I look at you, and I just love you, and it terrifies me. It terrifies me what I would do for you.

unexplained-events:

In preperation for his role as The Joker, Heath Ledger not only read the comics that went along with the script for The Dark Knight, but also locked himself away in a hotel in London where he formed a little diary and experimented with voices.

Here is what went on in that diary:

Jesters, clowns and jokers appear among the images in the diary, as do pictures of actor Malcolm McDowell as Alex in A Clockwork Orange.

The Make-Up Test

“This is the make-up test," Ledger said as he thumbed through the diary's last pages, noting that his son came back to write a note underneath the picture when the film wrapped eight months later.

The Goodbye…

"At the end of shooting, he wrote goodbye on the back of the last page. It was hard to read that."

"I ended up landing more in the realm of a psychopath — someone with very little to no conscience towards his acts. He’s just an absolute sociopath, a cold-blooded, mass-murdering clown."
